1. Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac must own / purchased your loan prior to June 2009 in order to qualify for HARP. Also, just because Wells Fargo, Chase, Bank of America or another lender “services” your loan does not necessarily mean they “own or back” your loan. You may verify using links below.
2. Getting NO MATCH from links in step one does not necessarily mean you do not qualify. There are times where we will need to call Fannie or Freddie to verify.
3. VA and FHA loans are not HARP eligible but you still may qualify for an interest rate reduction (i.e. VA and FHA have their own programs…which are available now).
